Welcome to the Silent Prepper and Frugal Living Blog

Welcome to my new blog.  I'm Trish Deneen, a web content writer and prepper.  I've been hesitant to start a blog on this subject for several reasons.  Besides the fact that there's already so much good information out there, I also tend to find myself overwhelmed with some of my other writing projects.

I decided to take the plunge and add my voice to the prepping blogosphere because I'm inspired by my favorite bloggers on this subject (which you'll find in the blog roll).  I also recently have been nudged into it by an incident at another site I write for which I may mention later and because this topic has been on my mind so much lately that I've written several articles about it already.  It seemed only natural that I have a blog in support of those articles.  The first few posts will be links to them, so please bear with me.

Just so you know, I do monetize my writing the best I can which means I have Google ads, links to Amazon items and in the future may have other affiliate links.  Like most people, I need to pay my bills and some of the money I earn from writing goes to prepping.

Besides posts about prepping subjects, I'll also share some thoughts and tips on frugal living as it's been part of my life ever since I can remember.  I'm the granddaughter of depression-era grannies and they instilled the importance of making due with what you have.

Wondering why I chose the name Silent Prepper?  Here's the reasoning from my About page:

"What do I mean by silent prepper? There is actually more than one meaning. First, is that I believe most people instinctively believe in preparing for an emergency but have been brainwashed to believe they're nuts for thinking for themselves and keeping their families safe and don't speak out much on the subject. Secondly, I'm a Pagan prepper which doesn't seem to be as common as other religions in the prepper community, another subset of preppers who may not speak out much. I'm also alluding to the fact that most of us aren't the crazies we're accused of being but silently go about our business doing what we believe is best for ourselves, our families and our communities.
I have no intention of turning this into a religious blog, but want to encourage other would-be preppers who may consider themselves "alternative" to take emergency preparedness seriously.  I'm a web content writer and you can learn more about me at my website."
Once again, welcome to my little prepping corner.  I hope you find useful information on your path to self-sufficiency.
