Emergency Essentials Preparedness Blog and Giveaways

Emergency Essentials is one of the companies we buy supplies from, usually food, but I believe my husband has bought storage supplies like oxygen absorbers.  They're located in Utah and have been around since 1987.  They carry hundreds (or more) of items including dehydrated and freeze dried foods such as Provident Pantry and Mountain House brands, bulk foods such as wheat, rice, oats, etc., all types of storage supplies including buckets, water containers, and all manner of emergency and disaster preparednessas well as some camping supplies.

But I wanted to draw your attention to their blog which sometimes has contest giveaways.  It's called Preparedness Pantry - Bringing Preparedness to Life.  While the blog usually features the company's newest products and sale items, it also has tips on storage, emergency preparedness including disasters, videos about using selected products and the giveaways I mentioned.  Their most recent prizes have been a clarified butter combo, a Mexican Food combo and a huge blog anniversary giveaway with different prize levels.  Sometimes you have to take a quiz to enter or post comments on their blog.  Each contest may have different entry requirements, but they aren't too complicated.

It's not all about the food.  I certainly don't want to downplay the disaster preparedness posts.  Check out their tornado series on what to do before, during and after a twister.  I haven't been close to being caught in one since I was a kid and don't live in a tornado alley area.  But it's not impossible for one to touch down here, so it's info I'm brushing up on.

It's a good resource to keep on your list.  Visit the blog for links to all of their social networking accounts if you want to keep up-to-date with them that way.

This video on how to seal Mylar bags in buckets is an example of what you'll see at the blog.
